Bacon Burgers (DF & GF)

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef 2 tablespoons rice crumbs 2 teaspoons coarse sea salt 2 teaspoons garlic powder 2 teaspoons onion powder ground black pepper, to taste 8 ounces bacon 4 leaves romaine 1 tomato 1 white onion pickle 2 avocados 4 gluten-free buns ΒΌ cup ketchup, to taste

Instructions

1. Place beef, salt, and spices in a bowl and mix to combine. Form into patties.

2. Cook bacon in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Remove bacon with a slotted spoon and set aside.

3. Burgers can be cooked on the stovetop or on the grill. If using the stovetop, pour off all but about 2 tablespoons of the bacon fat and return the skillet to the heat. If using the grill, preheat grill to medium-high heat.

4. Place burgers on grill or in skillet and cook for 3 minutes. Flip and cook for 3 minutes on the other side for medium rare, or longer if you prefer your burgers well done.

5. While the burgers are cooking, slice the tomato. Peel, pit and slice avocados. Toast the buns.

6. Serve burgers topped with bacon, avocado and ketchup.
