Ground Beef Taco Meat

Ingredients

½ large onion 2 cloves garlic 1 pound ground beef 1 tablespoon avocado oil, or cooking fat of choice 1 tablespoon chili powder 1 teaspoon paprika 1 ½ teaspoons cumin ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper ¼ teaspoon oregano ½ teaspoon sea salt ½ teaspoon ground black pepper 1 tablespoon water, optional

Instructions

1. Peel and dice onion into small pieces. Peel and crush garlic.

2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat (cast iron works well). Add ground meat, garlic, and onion.

3. Cook, stirring frequently to break up the meat, until fully cooked, about 7-8 minutes.

4. Add spices to beef. If your meat is really dry, you might want to add water. Stir to fully incorporate.

5. Turn temperature down to medium and cook another 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it smells so delicious you just can’t wait another second.

6. Serve on store-bought crunchy taco shells, cassava flour tortillas, or lettuce leaves with your favorite taco toppings.
