Italian Fennel Beef Sausage

Ingredients

1 teaspoon fennel seeds ¾ teaspoon anise seeds ½ teaspoon paprika ¼ teaspoon sea salt 1 pound ground beef 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

Instructions

1. Grind fennel seed and anise seed in a spice grinder or mortar and pestle.

2. Using your hands, mix spices and ground beef thoroughly. Form sausage into equally sized patties.

3. Heat skillet over medium-high heat and then add olive oil.

4. Cook sausage patties for 8-10 minutes on the first side.

5. Flip and cook for another 7-8 minute on the second side, until fully cooked (a meat thermometer should read 160F).
